The Edinburgh Baseball club has undergone three name changes since it was formed in 1986. The team was first named Edinburgh Royals until the 1989 season when the name was changed to Edinburgh Reivers. This name did not help the team as we were mistaken for Edinburgh's Rugby Team. From the beginning of season 1999, the team has changed it's name once again to the current name Edinburgh Diamond Devils. The team now has over 30 senior players and 20 juniors players and 5 coaches, All registered.

For the profiles of the seniors go to the profiles page for a full listing of the players. Each profile had the players name, number, position, as well as other personal information. Some of the players are on the committee of executives.

The Team is also involved in promoting baseball as a sport city-wide (Edinburgh ONLY) in schools with Pitch, Hit & Run.  More information on Baseball Promotions Page.

A new scheme set-up for 1999 is a Four Team Youth League in Edinburgh. This scheme should ensure the development of the sport in the city of Edinburgh.

From this season the Edinburgh Baseball Club will have two senior teams, Diamond Devils 'A' and Diamond Devils 'B', one in the Scottish League and the Second in the North Conference. In the Scottish league where the Diamond Devils 'B' play, there are only two other teams, Dundee Dragons and Glasgow Comets. In the league where the Diamond Devils 'A' play there are seven other teams. For more information on the seasons Schedule and Standings go to the Schedule and Standings Pages. The first team is our elite squad and the second team is for developing players. The Senior team has a minimum age required of 16. The Edinburgh Baseball Club also runs a junior team, Blue Jays, for players aged between 8 and 15 years.< /B>

The club is also a member of the British Baseball Federation (BBF). The BBF is the governing body for the United Kingdom's Baseball Clubs.

Our teams participate in league competitions against other clubs throughout the United Kingdom. Diamond Devils 'A', our elite team, will be playing in the BBF Northern Conference against teams from the north of England. Diamond Devils 'B', for developing players, will play in the BBF Scottish Conference, whilst the junior team, Blue Jays, play in the BBF Scottish Junior League.

Our elite players from both the junior and senior teams can also be selected to play for the Scottish National Team. The very best of players could also be picked for the Great Britain Squad. Edinburgh's Club has had 18 senior and 13 junior Scottish internationalists, as well as 3 seniors and 2 juniors making the Great Britain National Squads in the last ten years.

Nick Clark is the General Manager, with two assistants, Keith Graham and Stuart Morrison. Some of the other players hold positions on the board, such as Club Secretary, Pitch, Hit & Run Mangers, Media Manger and various other positions for the running of the club (not forgetting the Entertainment Manger for the team nights out). For the new Four Team Youth League being set-up in Edinburgh, the senior teams' players with be helping coach the teams and umpire the games. The Team has a solid membership and committee of executive who constantly strive to improve the club in all aspects of the game both on and off the field.
